Using No Wi-Fi Mode
No Wi-Fi Mode allows you to run activity sessions when a secure network isn’t available.
Activities must be stored on the device beforehand, and any stored session data will need to be uploaded once you reconnect to a secure network.
Instructions
-
Store activities for offline use
While connected to a secure Wi-Fi network, open the CViConnect PRO app and select the student. Touch the information icon on the activity you want to use offline, then touch “Store on Device” at the bottom of the activity overview. Repeat for each activity you want available offline.
-
Turn on No Wi-Fi Mode
Touch the settings gear in the top right corner. In the pop-up, touch the button
to turn on “No Wi-Fi Mode.” The header will change from “Activities” to
“Activities No WiFi.” Only activities stored in Step 1 will be visible. -
Run the session
Select the student and launch a stored activity as you normally would.
-
Check stored and uploading files
Touch the settings gear and select “Stored on Device” to see files waiting to
be sent, or “View Queue” to see files the system is currently trying to upload.
Neither list refreshes automatically — pull down or touch refresh periodically
to check current status. -
Reconnect and upload
Connect the iPad to a secure network and turn off No Wi-Fi Mode. Leave the app
open so stored session files have time to upload — closing it too early may
interrupt the upload.
FAQs
-
What happens if I close the app before stored session data finishes uploading?
If the app is closed before an upload completes, the session file remains in
the queue and will attempt to finish uploading the next time the app is open
and connected to a secure network. Reopen the app, stay connected, and check
“View Queue” to confirm the file has finished sending. Files in Queue are only temporary files and maybe deleted by your iOS system depending on your iPad’s storage and temporary file storage settings. -
Why don't I see an activity I stored on my device?
Check that you completed the “Store on Device” step for that specific activity and student, while connected to a secure network before switching to No Wi-Fi Mode. Only activities stored ahead of time for each student will appear when No Wi-Fi Mode is on. Storing an acivity for one student does not ensure it will be available for all students when no wi-fi mode is enabled.
If it’s still missing, turn off No Wi-Fi Mode, reconnect to a secure network, and
repeat the storing step.
